Web Conferencing Overview
The following is a VERY brief overview of the conferencing system. To see complete documentation of all features, please use Index links above
The web-conferencing system offers collaboration and conferencing features in a simple-to-use user interface. The web-conference virtual conference room allows participants to communicate through live voice (VOIP) using their computer, a microphone, and speakers. The voice-conferencing is half-duplex, meaning only one participant can talk at a time (like a walkie-talkie), but full-duplex (like that of a telephone) where multiple people can talk at the same time will be out soon. Participants can also communicate in the virtual room through an advanced text chat that allows different fonts, colors, emoticons, images and sounds. Administrators of the room can push PowerPoint presentations, websites, Excel files, or just about any other document to participants in the room through the use of our full-featured document center. Multiple administrators can be in the same room at the same time, making webcasting, and interviews a breeze. The whiteboard allows administrators to instantly display any part of their computer screen to all participants and then mark up that image with highlights, boxes, and text. Two important features of the whiteboard are: zoom area, which allows you to zoom any area of the whiteboard to draw attention, and moving, which allows you to move the captured image to make sure that all users can see all parts of the captured image. Administrators also have "management tools" in the conference room such as ability to ban users from the room, audio mute users, disable text chat of users, clear the speaker from the microphone, and so on. All sessions can be recorded and uploaded to the Internet. Users may access the recording and hear and see the entire session, including voice, text chat, and presentations. Video-conferencing has just been added in Beta to the conferencing system which allows anyone in the room to see the speakers from their webcam. Full Desktop and Application sharing is also available in Beta for the conference rooms. This allows administrators to display their screen or application in real-time to participants. The participants see all actions as they happen (mouse movements, text typed, files opened, etc.). This is perfect for displaying live charts (as in day trading) or for online training of software or software/site demos. There are other features, such as instant polling, configuring talk keys, and more all explained in the Full Documentation .
Web Admin Panel : Every conference room has its own web administration panel. This panel is accessed from anywhere in the world through the browser and allows users to configure settings of their conference room, such as room title, bitrate. home URL>, moderator and user passwords, and so on. From the web admin panel, you can also see a history of who has entered the room and from history, you can ban a user from entering the room again. You can also log all text chat made in the room and define whether the text chat should be public or private.
Virtual Community Server: Those who own a virtual community server may create multiple conference rooms and administer them from their virtual server admin panel. The admin panel allows you to create, delete, and modify your conference rooms. Each room may have its own "maximum seats" defined. The virtual server itself may also be defined in terms of the maximum concurrent users (seats) and/or maximum number of conference rooms
Server: Those you would want to run their own web-conferencing server from their own dedicated Windows Server or a T1 connection, may purchase a web-conferencing server of their own. The server allows all conferencing from connected client (conference rooms), upgrading of client versions, and administering all Virtual Community Servers and Virtual Conference Rooms taht have been configured from a "Master Admin Panel "
